Euro NCAP test

The Citroën C5 and C4 have passed Euro NCAP impact tests with flying colours. The two cars scored 36 and 35 points respectively, out of a possible 37.  The Citroën C5 achieved the highest-ever score, making it the safest car on the market in any segment.

The C4 gave an excellent performance in pedestrian-impact tests. With a score of three stars out of a possible four and 22 points, it now sets the standard in this area. The C4 also achieved an outstanding score in child-protection tests, with four stars out of a possible five.

These results underline the Marque's strategy on technological innovation, while also reflecting the achievement of the design and engineering teams at the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group in developing new platforms. Citroën vehicles rank among the leaders in their segment in terms of safety ratings, with high scores for the C2, C3, C3 Pluriel, C8 and C4, and the coveted position of market leader for the C5.

The impact tests demonstrated the strong, consistent performance of Citroën's protection systems, particularly in frontal impact. The C5 deserves a special mention, since it achieved the maximum score of 16/16. Naturally, the platform design, the layout of front-end components, the added structural parts and the airbags also contributed to these results.
