2.2 HDi Engine
Citroën has developed a range of high-performance solutions in recent years, as part of its global environmental protection strategy.
These solutions include a range of low-pollution engines with the HDi (direct-injection diesel) engines.

HDi 138
The 2-litre HDi 138 16 valve engine develops 100 kW CEE (138 bhp DIN ) for maximum torque of 320 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The overboost function increases maximum torque to 340 Nm at 2,000rpm at full engine load.
This engine is available with or without the Diesel Particulate Filter System (DPFS), depending on the country. The DPFS version meets the Euro IV emission standard.
HDi 173 DPFS
This new HDi diesel engine developing 173 is equipped with a particulate filter (DPFS) and bhp DIN (125 kW or 170 bhp EEC) mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
Featuring a range of innovations (parallel sequential dual turbo and new combustion and injection systems), the new engine sets high standards in power and, above all, driveability, particularly at low engine speeds. It also stands out for its environmental performance (Euro IV + DPFS) and fuel economy.
HDi 208 DPFS
This new V6 diesel engine combines power and fuel economy. Delivering a responsive performance from the lowest engine speeds, it develops 150 kW EEC (208 bhp DIN) at 4,000 rpm and torque of 440 Nm EEC at 1,900 rpm. This is an engine that combines smooth, gradual power with exceptional operating comfort.
With capacity of 2,720 cm3, this engine features four overhead camshafts and 24 valves, with common-rail direct multi-injection and two variable-geometry turbochargers.
The use of Common Rail technology explains these excellent performance levels.
A single rail supplies the four injectors with fuel at a pressure of up to 1,350 bars.
An electronic control system optimises the fuel/air mixture in all conditions of use.
