NaviDrive System

Citroën is marketing a new NaviDrive system on the C5 and C6 in first-quarter 2007, depending on the country. The new-generation NaviDrive boasts enhanced graphics and leading-edge telematics and audio functions. The system now includes a 30GB hard disk for stocking maps and music. Still rare on the market, this technology sets remarkable standards of performance and is thoroughly easy to use, in terms of both music and GPS navigation functions.

The inclusion of a hard disk brings new functionalities:

- With maps of 30 European countries stored in the memory drive, drivers have no need for CD-ROMs or DVDs. And journey times are much faster to calculate.

- The hard disk also features a Juke-Box function that can store up to 180 hours of music, either partly or completely copied from audio and MP3 CDs. Drivers can create playlists from titles stored on the hard disk.

The GPS navigation function also has two new modes:

- Birdview mode displays a 3D colour map to make route reading clearer.

- Intersection mode shows a detailed image of the next crossroads when the display is in full-screen mode.

The new NaviDrive keeps all the telematics functions of its predecessor (audio system and hands-free GSM telephone), along with the following four additional services, free of charge apart from the GSM subscription:

- Via Michelin traffic: 24/7 real-time information on traffic and accidents.

- Citroën Assistance: In the event of an incident, drivers can contact the assistance platform by pressing and holding down the “double chevron” button. Citroën swiftly sends a breakdown vehicle to the site of the incident.

- Citroën On Line: Drivers briefly press the “double chevron” button to get in touch with the call centre that answers any questions on how to use NaviDrive. This service is available Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm.

Entirely built into the vehicle, the NaviDrive system provides reassurance, comfort and assistance at all times, through the services it provides and the efficiency of its wide-ranging functions.
