A commercial vehicle with a difference

New Berlingo places the emphasis on space and modular design, both of which are important to professional users. Styling is also a priority, with robust and dynamic lines.

It also sets high standards in equipment, comfort and safety, taking care of passengers while meeting the needs of professionals.

Eminently practical

The New Berlingo is 4.38m long for the short version and 4.6m for the long version, with a wheelbase of 2.73m. It brings users:

• capacious load volume, with space for two Europallets positioned one behind the other width-wise. The New Berlingo has 3.3 m3 of space for a payload of 625 or 850 kg on the short version, and 3.7 m3 and 750 kg on the long version, making it a benchmark in the van segment;

• more versatility with the Extenso® cabin. This new cabin is designed to carry loads up to 3m long on the short version and 3.25m on the long version. With the folding side passenger seat at the front, the load volume rises to 3.7 m3 on the short version and 4.1 m3 on the long version. This cabin can also seat three people at the front.

For easy access to the load area, the New Berlingo ships with asymmetric swing panel doors with one or two sliding side doors.

A modern working tool with prestige styling

The styling of the New Berlingo is a subtle blend of vitality and sturdiness. It is both dynamic and modern, with its flowing lines, wide steeply raked windscreen, distinctive double chrome chevrons and the original cut-out of the front and rear windows. It is also robust, with its curving body lines, wraparound bumper, chunky side mouldings and high-mounted rear lights.

Onboard comfort worthy of a passenger car

The New Berlingo is an artful blend of LCV and passenger car, combining practicality with comfort and handling features that are new to the small van segment.

The New Berlingo has an ergonomic driving position with prestige features, including a height- and reach-adjustable steering wheel, a comfortable, height-adjustable driver's seat and a dashboard-mounted gearlever. It also ships with a long list of equipment to make professionals’ lives easier, such as a speed limiter, cruise control and a Bluetooth hands-free kit.

Safety features for professionals

To meet professionals’ requirements, the New Berlingo is fitted as standard with ABS and emergency brake assist. It is also available with ESP, hill-start assist, a tyre-pressure monitor and a worksite pack for extreme requirements.

For maximum safety, the New Berlingo can be fitted with up to six airbags, depending on the country. It thus becomes the benchmark in the small van segment for active and passive passenger safety.

High-performance business partner

The New Berlingo ships from launch with a choice of three engines: the 90 bhp 1.6 l 16V petrol and HDi 75 and HDi 92 diesels. The HDi 92 engine will be equipped with a particulate filter from December 2008. With this new engine, the New Berlingo will qualify for the Airdream® eco-label.

The New Berlingo is also an excellent manager. It ships with a new service that lets professional customers optimise their fleet management costs. This innovative service remotely transmits the information essential to first-class fleet management (total and partial mileage, consumption, oil levels, pre-servicing mileage exceeded, etc.) on a regular and automatic basis.
