C8

Zoom

The C8, Citroën’s executive MPV, combines elegance and driving pleasure.

The Marque launched a revamped C8 in early 2008. Inside, the new model is more opulent than ever, while outside, the MPV’s contemporary body styling gains in vitality.

Contemporary prestige styling

The C8 immediately stands out with its powerful, dynamic styling. The front end gains large, modernised chevrons, placed at the centre of a more tautly drawn, chrome-framed grille, underlining the vehicle’s premium positioning.

Echoing those at the front, the chevrons adorning the rear of the vehicle are also more imposing, and clearly identify the C8 as a Citroën. The Marque has also added translucent reversing lights.

Enormous, modular cabin with premium materials

The upgrades made to the cabin of the C8 reflect the changes in exterior styling. They accentuate the MPV’s premium character and instil a real sense of onboard sophistication.

With a wheelbase of 2.82 m, the C8 is designed to satisfy executive-MPV customers looking for outstanding space. The highly modular seats provide each customer with the same high level of comfort. The C8 can accommodate up to eight people in three rows of identical seats.

The cabin is particularly easy to access with its electric sliding side doors.

A complete range of engines

The C8 range gained a new HDi diesel engine in early 2008 developing 173 bhp DIN (125 kW or 170 bhp EEC), equipped with a particulate filter (DPFS) and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

This unit rounds out a range including the 143 bhp 2.0i 16V and two diesels, the HDi 120 and HDi 138 DPFS.

Revised running gear

All versions of the C8 feature MacPherson-type front suspension and a flexible transverse beam at the rear, providing outstanding steering precision. The HDi 173 DPFS version is also fitted with specially designed rear shock absorbers and an anti-roll bar.

Premium driving aids

Citroën’s largest MPV is now fitted, in Exclusive trim, with front and rear parking assist. Sensors located in the front and rear bumpers detect any obstacles close to the vehicle.

It also features the new NaviDrive telematics system. The system combines a 7-inch 16/9 screen with a built-in GSM telephone, audio system (radio, MP3-compatible CD player, jukebox function to store up to 30 Gb on the hard disk) and GPS navigation. NaviDrive was also designed to provide a number of additional customer services, namely Citroën Emergency, Citroën Assistance and Citroën On line.

Complete range of safety equipment

The C8 is fitted as standard with a speed limiter with cruise control (according to country) and a low-tyre pressure monitoring system (according to trim) that displays the wheel concerned.

To provide occupants with maximum safety, it boasts a complete range of active safety equipment including ABS, TCS, ESP, EBA and automatic hazard warning lights. And for exemplary protection for all passengers, the C8 is fitted with six airbags as standard.
The efficiency of this equipment, combined with a resistant structure, is reflected by the five stars obtained by the C8 in EuroNCAP tests.
