In keeping with the design cues of this segment, Citroën has designed a three-box saloon whose harmonious lines express elegance and status.

Dynamic elegant styling with distinctive character

The external lines of new C5 reflect a bold personality: a combination of elegance and performance, distinction and vitality.

The high waistline and pronounced wheel arches identify it as a prestige vehicle, while the front end, the sizing of the overhangs and the concave window are typical of a Citroën.

Putting the driver first

The meticulously designed driving position places the driver centre stage. It features a host of references to the world of aviation, such as the instrument cluster. This creates the same impression of energy and vitality inside the new C5 as outside.

The visual impact of the cockpit is also reflected an innovative range of driver-friendly controls, including the latest-generation fixed-centred controls steering wheel and range-topping drive aids, such as the lane change warning system and the dual-function Xenon steering lights.

The seats can be adjusted for maximum comfort and support in any position. The front seats are fitted with an electric feature to adjust the top of the backrest, while the driver's seat can be equipped with a massage function.

All the components of the cabin, from the dashboard to the central console and the door panels, reflect clear styling choices, for an elegant, high-quality and robust finish. The optional top-quality leather interior trim is both distinguished and refined.

Particular attention has also been paid to noise and vibration levels for enhanced interior comfort.

The comfort of drivers and passengers alike is further improved by C5's exceptionally spacious interior. The wheelbase has been extended by 65 mm compared with its predecessor, providing plenty of leg room.

Combining performance and comfort, the new C5 gains the high-performance running gear of the C6, designed to soak up any bumps or dips in the road surface. Two suspension options are available: Hydractive III+ for unparalleled comfort and roadholding, and a metal suspension for more direct contact with the road surface, while still benefiting from the comfortable ride that you expect from a Citroën.

Working with this highly efficient running gear, a range of three petrol engines and four diesel provide a gradual ramp-up of power.

Best-in-class safety features

The body structure and running gear feature the advanced characteristics of the C6 platform, which is a benchmark for safety.

The range of equipment, including ABS and ESP as standard and up to nine airbags, places the new C5 at the top of the class in terms of active and passive safety.

Finally, the Citroën Emergency service, which is available through the NaviDrive telematics system, is designed to cut the time taken by the emergency services to arrive at the scene of an accident, thus saving lives.

In keeping with the design cues of this segment, Citroën has designed an estate with racy lines that places the emphasis on emotion, without neglecting functional convenience.
