Citroën in 2006

  • The PSA Peugeot Citroën plant at Porto Real, Brazil, manufactures its 300,000th vehicle, a Citroën C3.

  • Following the success of the exhibition "The DS is a Work of Art" at FIAC 2005, Citroën is once again the official sponsor of this major international contemporary art fair in Paris.

  • Citroën strengthens its position in China by launching two new models specifically developed for the national market: the C-Triomphe, a sedan incorporating the features and innovations of the Citroën C4, and the C2, a 5-door compact hatchback.

  • C6 receives the prestigious Best Imported Vehicle 2006 award in Japan.

  • A win in Japan with the Xsara WRC gives Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena their 27th World Rally Championship victory.

2006 models

  • The C4 Picasso, a new 7-seat compact MPV, joins the Citroën range. One distinctive feature of this first visiospace is its panoramic, wide-angle windscreen.

  • The C-Métisse concept car is unveiled to the public. A coupé with plenty of personality, it combines high-spirited performance with respect for the environment.

  • The Citroën C4 WRC is the new weapon unleashed by the Citroën Sport team for the 2007 World Rally Championship.

  • The new Citroën Jumpy, an LCV slotting in between the Berlingo and Jumper, is launched.
