  • 1919 : Founding of Citroën. Launch of the Type A, Europe’s first mass-produced car.

  • 1922 : First crossing of the Sahara by car.

  • 1924/25 : The Black Cruise.

  • 1932/37 : The Yellow Cruise.

  • 1934 :  Birth of the Traction Avant.

  • 1935 : Michelin takes control of Citroën. 

  • 1949 : Launch of the 2CV. 

  • 1955 : The DS is presented at the Paris Motor Show. 

  • 1976 : Citroën SA and Peugeot SA merge to from the holding company PSA Peugeot Citroën. 

  • 1989 : Launch of the XM.

  • 1993 : Launch of the Xantia.

  • 1994 : Launch of the Evasion.

  • 1996 : Launch of the Saxo and Berlingo.

  • 1997 : Launch of the Xsara.

  • 1999 : Launch of the Xsara Picasso.
